Today (2023/10/12) we observe World Arthritis Day, as part of the Bone and Joint Action Week, to raise awareness about osteoarthritis and all rheumatic diseases. Rheumatism does not only target the old (rheumatoid arthritis) but also the young (juvenile idiopathic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis), hence the importance for people to consult a physical therapist to promptly screen and receive treatment should joint pain arise, regardless of age.
Here I took the leisure to draw Elbro on a Joint Count Chart that we use to map out swollen and tender joints during our assessments to have an idea of what kind of arthritis it could be.
